I'm still relying on payday cash loans whenever my budget is short due to extra expenses and my husband and I are saving a lot of cash for a new house. I get to do my favorite things even though it's quite tough to make ends meet these days.Sofia Brittshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07415987867800974710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8951827554109210928.post-26290250006953995932009-05-11T19:28:00.000-07:002009-05-11T19:28:00.000-07:00I know the feeling. The world is beating a path to this 63-year-old's doorstep. I'm told to "sell your experience." Employers don't want experience - they want economy. Low pay, long hours and no benefits. At my age that's tough to accept. Well, then I get "you should just go ahead and retire." Sure, again. What little of my retirement fund is left might bring in $40-$50 bucks a month if invested wisely. That and the reduced benefit that early retirement brings in and I can (maybe) afford to live in one of the "tent cities" springing up around the country. Then I hear the pundits - "the recession is coming to an end - happy days are here again!" I wonder how many of them would feel that way if they lost their jobs. Zero. Sorry, just on a pity trip tonight. Three rejections in the mail - today - crap! Still looking for that "silver lining."Halfcent50https://www.blogger.com/profile/17117304441065422994noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8951827554109210928.post-27830319857433280972009-04-02T11:32:00.000-07:002009-04-02T11:32:00.000-07:00vland I feel your pain. They say "The only way to be paid what you're worth is work for yourself." Am I really worth absolutely nothing? Now I'm 6 mos. without income, broke, and should get an Oscar for every interview I do while not revealing the true desperation of my situation. Hey, maybe acting could be my next job.Rick Thranehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02927340389388534005noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8951827554109210928.post-54595179894921556352009-03-18T11:40:00.000-07:002009-03-18T11:40:00.000-07:00my other favorite is the daily news shows which no...my other favorite is the daily news shows which now feature the ever so helpful job search advice...like save up a 6-12 month cushion of funds! oh and another one is how to network...don't even get me started on how lame some of this advice sounds after 7 months of unemployment, no savings left, tiny unemployment benefits and a very limited job market, with perspective employers inundated with hundreds of applications for low paying jobs. Then to have to watch the perky well paid "Experts" on TV is frankly, more than I can take right now.vlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04149265612356027325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8951827554109210928.post-30015847039026087922009-03-18T11:35:00.000-07:002009-03-18T11:35:00.000-07:00how about acting incredibly interested, motivated ...how about acting incredibly interested, motivated and perky while competing with other applicants for a job that has a salary which I earned over 15 years ago!vlandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04149265612356027325noreply@blogger.com
